چکیده

Autonomous UGVs (unmanned ground vehicles) has been extensively investigated it’s capabilities for military applications. In order to operate the UGVs on the open fields, they must be able to detect obstacles (eg. holes, stumps, rocks, etc) concealed behind vegetation canopies, as well as to detect surface. Forward looking imaging radar is necessary to autonomous UGVs for collision avoidance and the frequency range of the radar is definitely important to decide radar performance of the vegetation penetration. In this paper, the performance of penetrating radar is analyzed at various frequency range and vegetation biomass using the scattering model such as vector radiative transfer theory.

Forward Looking Radar Imaging by Truncated Singular Value Decomposition and Its Application for Adverse Weather Aircraft Landing

The forward looking radar imaging task is a practical and challenging problem for adverse weather aircraft landing industry. Deconvolution method can realize the forward looking imaging but it often leads to the noise amplification in the radar image. In this paper, a forward looking radar imaging based on deconvolution method is presented for adverse weather aircraft landing. We first present ...

An Improved RD Algorithm for Maneuvering Bistatic Forward-Looking SAR Imaging with a Fixed Transmitter

In order to improve the azimuth resolution beyond what monostatic synthetic aperture radar (SAR) can achieve in the forward-looking area, an asymmetric configuration bistatic SAR system and its imaging algorithm are proposed in this paper. The transmitter is mounted on a fixed platform in side-looking mode while the receiver moves along a nonlinear trajectory in forward-looking mode. Due to the...

An Extended Wavenumber-Domain Algorithm Combined with Two-Step Motion Compensation for Bistatic Forward-Looking SAR

With appropriate geometry configurations, bistatic Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) can break through the limitations of monostatic SAR on forward-looking imaging. Thanks to such a capability, bistatic forward-looking SAR (BFSAR) has extensive potential applications. For the focusing problem of BFSAR, wavenumber-domain algorithm is accepted as the ideal solution. However, in practical application...

An Iterative Shrinkage Deconvolution for Angular Super-Resolution Imaging in Forward-Looking Scanning Radar

The aim of angular super-resolution is to surpass the real-beam resolution. In this paper, a method for forward-looking scanning radar angular super-resolution imaging through a deconvolution method is proposed, which incorporates the prior information of the target’s scattering characteristics. We first mathematically formulate the angular super-resolution problem of forward-looking scanning r...
